Woven Picots

The stitch makes a leaf-like structure and gives a raised effect. To work the stitch make a fly stitch with the fastening straight stitch emerging from the same level as

the top ends of the V shape. Instead of using thumb to hold the thread, insert a pin. The straight stitch of the fly is passed around the pin instead of going into the fabric. Now weave the thread through the foundation till the shape is filled. After this the pin can be removed. Raised leaves of different thickness can be formed using the technique.
