Kaftans
are traditional casual wear that can be vorn during the day for
relaxing or as a casual evening wear. Its origin can be traced to
Mesopotamia. The fabric used is woven cotton or silk, plain or ornately
embellished, with flared sleeves and a wide sash, and always shrouding
the body. They are embroidered on front, necklines and borders.
Though loose fitting, embroidered kaftans make gorgeous eveningwear.
