The style followed is generally red embroidery (that can be done in other colors as well) and applique. Other styles may also be embroidered but are not very common. Applique as well as red work both were initially hand work but now even machine work can also be done. Rather machine embroidery has taken over a large part of applique and red embroidery in blankets.
