Double
Cross Stitch
The
stitch can be used with slight modification. Two horizontal stitches
are crossed with two vertical stitches. Then with two diagonal stitches
in each direction the stitch is complete.
This stitch can be worked on canvas or as a
filling stitch on linen. It is more often used as a count stitch. It is a simple
stitch involving one vertical cross and one diagonal. To work this stitch a horizontal stitch is made and then a vertical
passing through the center of the horizontal making a plus sign. And this is then
diagonally crossed like a simple cross stitch. The center of each stitch should
be same and each stitch should be same length or cover the same thread count.
