Cross
Stitch
There
are two ways of making a basic cross-stitch. The first method is
used when working rows of stitches in the same color. The first
step makes the bottom half of the stitches across the row, and the
second step makes the top half. The second method is used when making
single stitches. The bottom and top halves of each stitch are worked
before starting the next stitch.
Although research varies regarding when Cross-Stitch began, but
one thing is known for sure that it's been around for centuries. It was about
thirty years ago that cross-stitch's popularity was revitalized. And in these
last three decades, there has been production of many new gorgeous fabrics and
threads, and hundreds of thousands of designs from simple samplers to intricate
works of art, all made of cross stitch. This stitch is meant for every skill level
and suits every personal taste.
