Beaded Embroidery Designs
Beadwork
of Gujarat and Rajasthan are quite famous. It was introduced
in early 18th century by the Europeans. The beaded embroidery
is used on garments, furnishing products, handbags, shoes
(Indian Jootis) necklaces wrist bands etc.
Beaded embroidery in India is done in two ways. One, they
are stitched on cloth to create patterns, second they are
patterns in transparent threads or colored threads without
any base to create netted patterns for wall hangings, applique
or other decorative products.
Transparent and semi-transparent beads are used to produce
embroidery patterns. The beads are sewn row by row. On the
next row, the stitching of the beads moves one position
forward, to create a tight network.
